Federica Castioni graduated in Law (magna cum laude) at Milan State University in 1974, with a thesis in administrative law; subsequently, she worked in a major firm specialized in town planning law, practising before the Regional Administrative Courts.
After qualifying as a lawyer in 1976, she won a scholarship to attend a specialized yearly course in Economics at Scuola di Sviluppo Economico (School of Economical Development) of UNIONCAMERE (Institute of Italian United Chambers of Commerce) in Rome.
She returned to her professional activity in 1980, after a further three year experience in Australia, during which, among other things, she attended courses at Perth University of Western Australia, Faculty of Economics. She joined the firm in 1982, and became partner in 1991.
The chief areas of practice of Federica Castioni are private international law, and domestic and cross border litigation. Federica Castioni has been in charge of a number of litigations, often of multi-jurisdictional concern, in contractual, company law, insurance, banking, and corporate insolvency cases, and in cases of tortious liability, with particular interest and experience in matters of civil law linked to situations subject to criminal proceedings, as well as in medical malpractice.
Federica Castioni heads a team of dedicated litigators. She is familiar with criminal and public law aspects, and has developed proven skills of multidisciplinary work in coordination with criminal and administrative law counsels, foreign lawyers, experts and consultants.
