We assist Swedish companies wishing to establish subsidiaries, branches or representative offices in Italy, as well as in all extraordinary transactions and M&A, including post-closing activities, real estate acquisitions, the creation of cross-border joint ventures and strategic partnerships.

The Desk also supports clients in the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements, including agency, distribution, franchising, e-commerce, licensing and rental agreements, as well as in matters relating to employment and social security law.

In the tax area, we offer a broad range of services, with tailored solutions relating to international investment planning, transfers of residence, succession planning and gifts.

Finally, we provide assistance in litigation in Italy, including the definition of litigation strategy and representation before the Italian courts, up to the Supreme Court, as well as in arbitration proceedings, also handling the enforcement of judgments and arbitral awards. A distinctive feature of the Desk is the constant and timely updating of clients and their internal and external advisers on developments in each matter.

The Swedish and Nordic clients we assist operate mainly in the automotive, marine engines, earthmoving machinery, steel, mining, metal cutting technologies, electronics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, hospitality and tourism, telecommunications and infrastructure, banking and financial services sectors.

The Desk is coordinated by partner Marco Frazzica, fluent in Swedish and Honorary Consul General of Sweden, with extensive experience in relations between Italy and Sweden. The team includes, among others, partners Massimo Caiazza, fluent in Swedish and also admitted to the Swedish Bar with the full title of Advokat, Massimiliano Gazzo and Silvia Doria, as well as several associates with solid experience in relations between Italy and the Nordic countries.

Our firm works on an ongoing basis with the Swedish Trade & Investment Council and the Italian-Swedish Chamber of Commerce Assosvezia and regularly participates in seminars and initiatives, including in Sweden, dedicated to legal and tax matters relevant to Swedish companies operating or intending to operate in Italy.
