Having celebrated its first fifty years, De Berti Jacchia is renewing its governance and entering a new phase in its development. The partners have appointed Massimiliano Gazzo and Claudio Corba Colombo as Co-Managing Partners, with founding partner Roberto Angelo Jacchia continuing to provide strategic advice, entrusting them with the leadership of the Firm. The new structure will support the growth of a firm that today comprises more than 75 professionals, with the ambition to expand further while strengthening its organisational model and its ability to address the challenges of an ever-evolving legal market.
The new governance structure builds on a position of strength and formalises a fully completed generational transition. It introduces a more structured model, with clearly defined bodies, functions and responsibilities, distinguishing strategic direction from operational management and strengthening decision-making processes, people development and risk management.
For De Berti Jacchia, governance is the framework through which to pursue development based on integration across practices and shared responsibility, strengthening areas of excellence and developing new capabilities in response to market evolution. This path reaffirms the values on which the Firm has built its identity: independence, professional excellence, an international outlook and a strong focus on client relationships.
The new organisation also strengthens the functions dedicated to the Firm’s development, with Partner Michelangelo Cicogna taking responsibility for Business Development and Partner Chiara Caliandro for Communications. These two strategic functions are integrated into the governance structure to support consistent, structured and long-term growth. The Firm has also established a dedicated focus on artificial intelligence, both as an area in which to advise clients on AI-related legal issues and as a driver of innovation in its internal processes. This development reflects an awareness of how technology is reshaping the legal profession and further strengthens the Firm’s ability to provide clients with continuity, reliability and an increasingly integrated approach.
In a market increasingly moving towards consolidation, De Berti Jacchia confirms its independence as a strategic choice, firmly believing that autonomy, specialisation and cultural consistency are essential to providing multidisciplinary advice with a long-term perspective. This vision goes hand in hand with the Firm’s longstanding international outlook, which has always underpinned its work for Italian and international clients on cross-border matters through an integrated approach and an established network of relationships.
“Governance is not only about internal structures, but about how a firm chooses to prepare for the future. This journey stems from the belief that growth means organisation, shared responsibility and the ability to evolve without losing one’s identity,” says Massimiliano Gazzo.
“Having celebrated our first fifty years, we now look ahead to the next fifty with the strength of a firm that has successfully renewed itself without turning its back on its roots, and with confidence in a new generation of professionals who will be called upon to shape its future. Governance is the concrete expression of this vision: not a destination, but the starting point of a new chapter,” adds Claudio Corba Colombo.
With the renewal of its governance, De Berti Jacchia consolidates an organisational model designed to support its growth and strengthen its positioning as an independent, international firm focused on creating long-term value.
