On 2 July, the event “From Start-up to SME: When Building the Right Structure Makes the Difference” took place at the Randstad Box in Milan. The initiative was promoted by InnovUp and the Italian Association for Human Resources Management (AIDP) as part of the 4th meeting of AIDP Lombardia’s “HR & SMEs” Working Group, led by Paolo Calori and organised, for the second consecutive year, in partnership with InnovUp.
The event brought together professionals, entrepreneurs and HR leaders to discuss one of the key challenges facing growing businesses: building a solid organisational structure while preserving flexibility and the ability to innovate.
Our Gaspare Roma, who co-organised the event, opened the workshop with a presentation entitled “Organisational Charts and Procedures as Tools for Mitigating Legal Risks”. His speech focused on the role of organisational charts, job descriptions and internal procedures as essential tools not only for improving corporate governance but also for preventing and mitigating legal risks associated with so-called organisational liability.
The programme also featured contributions from Marco Crippa, who examined the main organisational challenges affecting many SMEs and the strategies to improve efficiency and productivity; Beatrice Castellini, who shared the experience of Castellini Group and Lazzari, highlighting the importance of clear processes, defined responsibilities and a shared organisational culture to support business growth; and Giovanni Pizza, who offered the perspective of a fast-growing start-up, emphasising the need for effective organisational structures to sustain growth, innovation and talent development.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for discussion and networking among businesses and professionals, reaffirming the importance of collaboration between the HR and innovation ecosystems in supporting the sustainable growth of SMEs.
