Chiara Caliandro has been collaborating with the Firm since 2008. She joined immediately after earning her law degree at Bocconi University in Milan. In 2011 she was seconded to an Italian branch within the IKEA group .
Chiara primarily handles litigation, both ordinary and arbitration-based, in civil and commercial matters. She has frequently been appointed also as sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in various national arbitral proceedings. Her main area of expertise involves international commercial contracts (particularly agency, distribution, franchising, service and supply agreements). She also drafts, reviews and negotiates such contracts, managing the pre-litigation phase to prevent disputes, with a particular focus on clients active in the fashion and luxury sectors.
She is currently Co-Chair of the Bar Relationship Coordination board of AIJA, as well as AIJA Liaison Officer on the Young Lawyers’ Committee of IBA.
She served as Co-President of the Litigation Commission of AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers) from September 2023 until August 2025, having previously held the position of Vice-President from 2019 and National Representative of AIJA for Italy from August 2017.
In 2019, Chiara was awarded Best AIJA National Representative for 2018/2019.
In 2016, together with her colleague Francesco De Berti, she received the Past Presidents Award for Best National Report at the AIJA Annual Congress in Munich, on the subject of mediation. In 2015, she was recognised as one of the 5 best professionals under 35 who participated in the annual arbitration course at the CAM (Milan Chamber of Arbitration).
Since 2021 she has been a member of
CRINT (International Relations Committee of the Milan Bar Association), with responsibility for AIJA. She is also a member of
AGAM (Association of Young Milanese Lawyers) and a member of the
BAC (Bocconi Alumni Community).
As co-counsel, she successfully assisted a foreign company, active in the hotel construction sector, in an emergency proceedings against a well-known Italian contractor in the furniture sector, obtaining the release of an important bank guarantee.
